Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin

Skin care is a key step in combating the signs of aging. It is possible to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age spots, but only if you take the necessary steps to combat the causes. The first step to an effective skincare routine is in learning what the skin needs in order to repair itself. Skin needs vitamins A, D, and E as well as protein, minerals, and flavonoids. The following are four effective ingredients that can be found in the typical skincare regimen.

The first ingredient that Rouleau recommends for use in any hydrating moisturizer routine is antioxidant serums. An antioxidant serum will help prevent damage caused by the sun’s UV rays by providing your skin with the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to fight these damaging rays. The best antioxidant serums contain ingredients such as beta carotene, vitamin C, lutein, and grape seed. For sensitive skin, he also recommends a cleanser with an anti-inflammatory ingredient like alpha hydroxy acid. An anti-inflammatory is especially important for people with sensitive skin that experiences frequent breakouts. Alpha hydroxy acid helps reduce inflammation by preventing the formation of new skin cells and erasing existing ones.

The second step in Rouleau’s recommended routine is to always use sunscreen when outdoors or doing activities where there is strong sun exposure. Not only does the sunscreen help protect you from the sun’s harmful UV rays, but it also helps prevent the development of age spots and other signs of aging. Another ingredient that can be found in anti-aging creams and lotions is vitamin E. However, many of these products cause excessive swelling so you should choose products that have more natural, organic ingredients such as vitamin C or coenzyme Q10. According to Renee Rouleau, however, if you want your anti-aging routine to work effectively, you must follow it daily.

Another ingredient that can be found in her regimen is la carte skincare. While most products sold in drugstores are full of synthetic chemicals and harsh ingredients, skin care products in a la carte format are often much gentler. Natural fruit extracts are used to improve the skin’s moisture content, collagen production, and softness. However, as with most things in life, some people out there prefer to buy products that contain all natural ingredients and bypass the hassle of a la carte skincare routine. According to Rouleau, this shouldn’t be the case.

One of the best natural ingredients that she recommends for her routine is called maria moriatica extract. This substance comes from a plant in Italy that grows wild across the Mediterranean. When combined with aloe vera and tea tree oil, maria moriatica extract effectively soothes redness and inflammation while nourishing the skin with essential vitamins and minerals.

The final step in her skincare routine is a pair of serums that address problems like fine lines and dark spots. After using the serums, she then wants to use an eye contour gel before heading off to bed. The eye creams are designed to hydrate and even out the area surrounding the eyes. They are very effective at reducing the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots. According to Rouleau, one needs to apply the eye creams before going to bed and once every other day for a couple weeks to really see results.

Of course, all these methods will only give results if you change your lifestyle habits. According to Rouleau, this means eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of sleep each night. She also suggests cutting back on her daily stress levels. Stress can cause irritation and redness, not to mention fatigue and breakouts that don’t go away. She recently tried a new product called Ultimate Breakout Serum that she says was highly effective at reducing inflammation, redness and breakouts.

The two serums she recommends to help deal with her skin are called Ultimate Redness Solver Eye Contour Gel and Ultimate Infrared Wrinkle Remover. The eye creams contain retinol and the wrinkle removers are high in vitamin A, D, E and K. The skincare expert says both products work well together. For optimal results, use both the eye serum and the retinol serum at night before bedtime and apply one to one and a half to two cups of the eye serums to her face and neck. Each morning, she wakes up with younger looking skin.
